BOOK REVIEW: TRUSTING GOD
Trusting God is a book every believer should read.Ā
During a season of magnified anxiety, I sensed this title could be a wise choice. I was desperately trying to cast my care on God but could not shake the unreasonable pit in my stomach. I knew I needed a reminder of why God could be trusted or some pointers on how to do so better. Trusting God proved to be the dose of medicine I needed. Jerry Bridges unpacks three essential truths about God we must believe to fully trust Him in adversity:
- God is completely sovereign.
- God is infinite in wisdom.
- God is perfect in love.1
Each one is equally and simultaneously true. In his conversational and considerate style, he appeals to Scripture, showing how God has revealed Himself in each way and why it means we can trust Him.
